Need help learning how to use your Accu-Chek Compact Plus blood glucose meter?
The ACCU-CHEK Compact Plus meter is very easy to operate because there's no more struggling with individual test strips. You'll find that the integrated ACCU-CHEK Softclix Plus lancing device makes it easy to check your blood glucose level anywhere.
CHECKING YOUR BLOOD GLUCOSE
Slide and release the power button to turn the meter on and advance a test strip. The test strip will automatically emerge, and a flashing test strip and blood drop symbol will appear on the display.
Use the lancing device to prick the side of your fingertip. Gently squeeze the fingertip to produce a tiny drop of blood.
Hold the meter so the test strip points down. Touch and hold the tiny drop of blood to the black notch on the end of the test strip—do not apply to the top of the strip or window. A small flashing hourglass indicates when enough blood has been applied. If necessary, more blood can be applied again within 25 seconds. Your results will appear in the display.
Slide and release the power button to turn the meter off and to eject the used strip.
ALTERNATE SITE TESTING
To check your blood sugar from a non-fingertip site, place the clear plastic ACCU-CHEK Softclix Plus cap on the lancing device and press until it clicks. Firmly press the clear cap against your selected site and click the release button. Continue to apply pressure to the selected site for a few seconds. Watch the drop of blood form through the clear cap. When you have enough blood, apply it to the test strip. The measurement will start automatically.
Be sure to talk with your doctor before deciding if alternate site testing is right for you.
